Tokenization of real-world assets on public blockchains, enhanced by Fireblocks
The financial industry is making new moves, with tokenization projects coming to light to bring traditional assets into the public blockchains and increasing their distribution and liquidity. The trend gained momentum with the issuance of bonds and other funds in the last 12 months.
Last week, BlackRock launched BUIDL, its first tokenized fund issued on the Ethereum blockchain, with Securitize as their transfer agent, tokenization platform, and placement agent in digitizing and expanding access to its investment products. BUIDL represents a significant development for the tokenization of real-world assets on public blockchains.
Securitize believes that the tokenization of securities could fundamentally transform capital markets. That’s why they chose to work with Fireblocks, a best-in-class secure wallet infrastructure trusted by some of the largest banks globally, including BNY Mellon, ABN Amro, and ANZ.
Combining Fireblocks’ wallet infrastructure with Securitize, an industry leading transfer agent and tokenization provider, was instrumental for a seamless and secure token issuance and burn process for BUIDL.
Securitize uses Fireblocks key management to securely deploy and operate the smart contracts of the tokens while maintaining full control and visibility over their assets.
Fireblocks meets the needs of the largest and most stringently regulated institutions by providing an enterprise-grade, battle-tested infrastructure that is secure, flexible, and adaptable.
Regulated institutions looking to take advantage of the benefits that tokenization can offer need to build on a secure, battle-tested platform. We are very excited to work with our partners at Securitize to bring BUIDL to market.
Fireblocks customers can now access and self-custody BUIDL directly through the Fireblocks console.
