We chose Fireblocks for a number of reasons, but I think simply put the security was fantastic and we kind of compared that against what was in the market and we felt that actually this presented the best way of securing our client assets.
I'm Josh. I'm the CEO and founder of One Trading. We are a regulated centralized exchange in Europe. We built the fastest trading venue in the world and we also are close to announcing our MiFID II license, which will allow us to trade and list securities, both crypto and traditional securities internationally as well.
By using the Fireblocks technology setup we feel confident that we can provide the best security and safety to all of our customers foundational. I think it's important to start with the simplest thing, which is looking after our customers' assets, opening up wallets and being able to send and receive assets. On top of that as well, there's always been a very solid roadmap of new products that Fireblocks has focused on, and that kind of really lends itself to how we think about the industry as well, which is it's not static, it's constantly evolving.
And actually, we want to be providing the best in class services front to back, from trading to custody, in terms of all of the products that we're rolling out to our customers. So it was important that we had something with the right rules, engines with the right, I guess kind of adaptability for the different use cases we were looking to implement.
So obviously, when we met with Fireblocks, we met with a number of other different custodial or kind of tech providers. We felt confident, given the kind of the MPC setup and the processes and checks and balances that were put in place across the different admin interfaces, user interfaces and overall usability, that ultimately it passed the kind of the real stringent litmus test we had on it being secure and safe.
We also felt from the outset, when we started working on this, that the collaboration we had with the Fireblocks team was kind of second to none. And we've seen that from day one to where we are now. I don't see a scenario where we have an opportunity or a problem or anything kind of pops up where we don’t see an immediate response, an immediate engagement from the team we're working with. And I think that's kind of really just going from strength to strength. So we're super happy with how everything has gone.
One of the things we're very excited about with Fireblocks and the exchange settlement setup is that it doesn't expose you to the counterparty risk in terms of how the settlement process actually runs.
I think as we look at different solutions in the market, that's I think been key in designing this and speaks to kind of the needs of the different counterparties that are looking to you to engage with this and use it.
